8-9 a.m. — Class 1 — Safety — Brock Yordy
In this one-hour session, Yordy will discuss OSHA’s emphasis on Focus Four and its relation to the drilling Industry. Beyond Focus Four, he will discuss excavation and confined space safety.
9-10 a.m. — Class 2 — Drilling: Managing and Disposing of Fluids and Solids Generated On-Site — Brock Yordy
In this one-hour session, Yordy will discuss the importance of managing and disposing of on-site waste. As drilling contractors, we become hazardous waste cogenerators. It is essential to create an executable plan with that designation, but we can bill appropriately. We will discuss rules, scenarios, and best practices to be environmentally responsible and profitable in class.
10 a.m.-12 p.m. — Class 3 — Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs): Understanding and Applying Them — Tom Beran, Headwater Wholesale
A better understanding into how VFDs operate, an in-depth look into their programming, how that programming might impact your application, the importance of a proper ground, and when to use them and when not to will be presented in this two-hour session.
12-1 p.m. — Lunch break
1-3 p.m. — Class 4 — Pumps and Water Systems
An initial review of basic pump application advancing into a more in-depth look into pump applications, both standard as with a VFD and a “system approach” with a look into how the application might impact the pump as to how the choice of pump might affect the application will be presented in this two-hour session.
